The Least To The East

Take a walk with me into a Bethel Sunday. It's crisp winter day and I am thankful to be attending church. Pastor Davis did a wonderful Christmas Presentation. I have a great deal of admiration and respect for him as he walks this road in faith and not by sight. You can view it as well as today's sermon  here.  We had the privilege of hearing Missionary to Scotland Robert Kelley preach today. When he started off his sermon, I just chuckled to myself. God truly has been sending people our way to encourage us. Many are sick. Many are dealing with all kinds of things that are heavy.  The beauty of Bethel is that no matter what is taking place in our lives, when we come to church, we lay it at the feet of Jesus, and we worship. In His presence there is a peace the surrounds us. Our problems are still there when we walk out the door. Many times, after being in His presence, miracles do take place and God makes a way where there seems to be no way. Dear Bethel Family, you have my hea

Happy 42 Years

Take a walk with me and catch a glimpse of a rare and special couple. Today marks their 42nd wedding anniversary.  I’ve knew of Doug and Vickie Davis for many years before I moved to New York. Over the past 15 years I’ve had the privilege to observe them as new pastors all the way to seasoned. One thing that has stayed through the good, the bad, the ugly and the abundance- their  love for each other.  On many occasions you would observe him catch her eye and her whole face would just light up the entire room. They are devoted to each other. They have served the church with the utmost dedication and they have done it side by side. Now, we see love in another form. We see love in sickness and in health. A man and woman who’s love is not hampered by ALS. You know the strength of a marriage when sickness comes. You know the love of a spouse when they choose to give of themselves in all areas. To the best pastoral team, the most beautiful example of selfless love, Doug and Vickie Davis- I

The Sign Of Swaddling Clothes

Take a walk with me into Bethel Sunday. The sermon today was preached by Bro. Jonathan Walker. He preached from Luke 2:1-7 with the title of " The Sign Of Swaddling Clothes".  I highly recommend you watch listen to it here.   There is so much more that he preached on, but I want to share with you what stood out to me the most. I have heard thousands of sermons in my lifetime. This was the first time I have ever heard a sermon like this. I learned something new today and to be honest it was blowing my mind.  I am going to try and share it with you, but he made a statement that took my mind back in time and for a moment I didn't hear what he was preaching. Bro. Walker talked about the importance of swaddling a newborn baby. How it gives them a sense of comfort. That took me back to when RJ was just a newborn baby and doing the very same thing with him. Bro. Walker then began to talk about how Bethlehem was called a tiny town. Many wonderful things/people in the Bible came
