Advent 19 and 20

 Take a walk with me.  I missed blogging yesterday. So I am combining it with today’s.  We have an added taste tester for our chocolates. We are spending Christmas with my mom. For our Advent Adventures:


Aldi: creamy milk chocolate in the shape of a horse and Hansel and Gretel at the candy cottage.

Coffee:  Spiced Egg Nog and Columbian. I can’t tell you how they taste since my mom does not have a Kurig and coffee is done the old fashioned way. I will enjoy them at a later time.

Pearl’s Treats: never fear- Pearl is quickly near to enjoy her treats.

North Fork Chocolates: square milk chocolate with tiny green dots on top- inside was this amazing Belgian chocolate infused with caramel- ahmazing.  Square dark chocolate with a Christmas Tree. Inside amazing chocolate infused with Mocha Coffee. I LOVED IT, RJ and my mom- not so much- they are not coffee lovers.

Lego: snowspeeder and shield generator. RJ yelled out it’s all from Hoth... happy boy.


Oh how bright His light is shining upon us today.

Isaiah 60:1-3

1 Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD has risen upon you.

2 For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but the LORD will arise upon you, and his glory will be seen upon you.

3 And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.

To Love Like Stan Jones

 To love like Stan. What does that mean? When I heard of the passing of Stan Jones, the first thought that crossed my mind is who will love like Stan Jones? How do I properly give tribute to a man who had a way to make you feel at ease? Simple, kind and gentle that was Stan. On Sunday's he would bring a van filled with people to church. He was a friend to the friendless. He believed and poured hope into those that others would pass by and not give a second thought to. He showed the love of Jesus to everyone he met, simply by showing kindness. He truly lived as you have done it unto the least of these, you have done it unto me. Stan was a father figure to those who had none. Stan was a friend. Stan was faithful. Stan was a servant.  He spent countless hours teaching Bible studies. In Loving Memory of Sis Vickie Davis

Vickie Davis was born January 6th, 1954. She passed away from this life on December 16th, 2022. She left behind a beautiful legacy. She was First Lady of Bethel United Pentecostal Church in Old Westbury, NY.  Wife of her beloved Doug Davis. Devoted sister to her siblings by birth or marriage. Loved deeply her nieces and nephews. She was a faithful friend to many.  A classy lady in everything she did, even when she was painting the walls, changing a lightbulb or getting on her knees to clean out a cobweb in the corner. She loved the church. She loved the saints. She loved her husband. She loved her family. We all loved her in return. To her a church building project meant progress. She loved souls and a bigger building meant room for more to come to the love of Christ. She had a wonderful sense of humor. Her smile lit up the room and warmed your heart.
