I Know God Is For Me

Take a walk with me on a Sunday into Bethel. I don't take for granted these days. I love going to church, being in church and being a part of a church. I am so thankful for this place. The guest speaker for today was Bro. Tom Trimble.  He was there with his wife and daughter in law.  About two weeks ago I blogged about Anthony Trimble's passing away. When Bethel began to sing one of Anthony's songs, I saw the instant tears in his family. My heart broke. Instinct kicked in and I just went over and prayed/cried with Lysandra. I don't know her personally, but you don't need to when you are a part of the family of God. When one hurts we hurt with them. When one rejoices we rejoice with them. It's so vital that we carry one another when we see a need. We truly do need one another. Never walk a road alone. I ask that you continue to pray for this precious family. Bro. Trimble preached on "I know God Is For Me". His main text was taken from Psalm 56:9.  I did not take very good notes, I apologize for that. You can see/hear the sermon here. I will give you however the highlights of the sermon. Bro. Trimble gave several examples from the Bible of when things happened well for one and not so well for another. We can't explain this. All we can say is, "I don't know". We are not left standing there with just this answer because we have something that stands firm. We have a knowledge that goes beyond what we understand or even don't fully comprehend. We know that God is for us. I can have everything going upside down in my life, I can look in the mirror and say with confidence- "Julia-God is for you".  When you realize this. When you truly believe it. When you stand upon it, it's then that you tap into a peace that truly goes beyond your understanding. If God is for me, it does not matter what is up against me. When you truly believe God is for you- you can be like David and say:

Psalm 34

1.I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.

My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.

O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together.

I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.

They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.

This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.

The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.

O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

O fear the Lord, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.

10 The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing.

11 Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the Lord.

12 What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good?

13 Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.

14 Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.

15 The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.

16 The face of the Lord is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.

17 The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.

18 The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.

20 He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.

21 Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate.

22 The Lord redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.

God is good.
