In Loving Memory of Sis Vickie Davis

Vickie Davis was born January 6th, 1954. She passed away from this life on December 16th, 2022. She left behind a beautiful legacy. She was First Lady of Bethel United Pentecostal Church in Old Westbury, NY.  Wife of her beloved Doug Davis. Devoted sister to her siblings by birth or marriage. Loved deeply her nieces and nephews. She was a faithful friend to many.  A classy lady in everything she did, even when she was painting the walls, changing a lightbulb or getting on her knees to clean out a cobweb in the corner. She loved the church. She loved the saints. She loved her husband. She loved her family. We all loved her in return. To her a church building project meant progress. She loved souls and a bigger building meant room for more to come to the love of Christ. She had a wonderful sense of humor. Her smile lit up the room and warmed your heart. Her hugs made you feel like everything was going to be just fine. She loved to worship her Savior. Without fail, no matter what was going in her life, the church or the world, she never lost her praise. More often than not, if you looked over at her in church, you would see her with her eyes closed and hands raised in worship towards heaven. Even when ALS was breaking her body down, she did not lose her praise. She loved to sing for Jesus. She had a powerful and beautiful voice on her own that became so much the more when joined in duet with her husband. There was always something to be done for or at the church and she did it with joy. She was wise beyond her years. She did everything with excellence. Always an encourager, when she could no longer speak with her voice, she let her fingers do all the talking. I loved seeing her pop up all over social media as she would leave her happy comments on a baby's picture or words of wisdom to someone's post.  Even though, she and her husband had not been blessed with children of their own, she was mother figure to many. We prayed believing for God to heal her of ALS. He did so, but in His own way. In my mind's eye I see her laying her crown at the feet of Jesus as she sings in praise and adoration to the one, she loved the most. Our hearts are broken that she no longer is with us. We have Hope for we know we will see her when we get to Heaven. We can have peace for precious in the eyes of the Lord is the death of His saints. We can have joy for we know she has reached her Heavenly Reward. Let us love like she loved. Let us give like she gave. Let us worship like she worshiped.

A few years ago, she made a Ladies Devotional Video for Bethel. I believe it is her heartbeat. You can view/listen to it here.

God blessed her with a beautiful and anointed voice. This is one of many songs she sang with the Bethel Choir. You can view/listen to it here.
