An Open Door

Today Bro. Miller preached an outstanding sermon on "An Open Door".  His main text was taken from Esther 3:7-11 and 4:1,7-16.  I like it when he preaches. Bro. Miller has a way of sharing life stories that help you connect to what he is preaching. I plan to share the highlights from my notes but encourage you to listen to it on your own. You can view/listen to it here.  Bro. Miller talked about how important it was for the priests to enter the Holy of Holies correctly. If they did not, they would die. Those outside waiting knew things were going well by the sound of the bells that would jingle as the priests moved, swayed and danced in the presence of God. We as Apostolic like to dance and worship in church. If you have never been to a Pentecostal church, you might be surprised by the exuberant worship. Only the priests had acess to this place. When Jesus died on the cross the veil that separated them was ripped from top to bottom. Access to the presence of God was being given to everyone. In essence a door had been opened. In our present day and life, we have situations and pressures in life. We are praying for God to open a door for us. We wait for God to open the door to freedom or answers that we need. To have access to the door God has for us to walk through we need to approach it like Esther, with humility. She approached the king with a humble and desperate heart and he in turn held out his Sceptor. He offered her up to half of his kingdom. When we come to our Heavenly Father it's knowing that He loves us and cares for us. He knows of our pain. While in our pain He makes us stronger and heals the places in us that need healing. Then, just as what seems to be overnight, God opens the door and brings us into the answer that we needed. We need to take the step of faith towards the door believing in His time that it will open. Don't give up. Keep praying. Keep fasting. Keep praying. God is good.
