Mother’s Day 2023

Mother’s Day 2023.  RJ asked me what I wanted for Mother’s Day. I told him one of his amazing hand made  cards, whatever he could think of creative wise, to go to church together and end the evening at one of my favorite places on Long Island watching the sunset as we ate a slice of pizza. Yesterday, after we helped with the Bethel Plant Sale, we took a drive towards the North Fork with expectations of seeing an Alpaca Farm. When we arrived, the Alpacas were not as I expected and kept to themselves. I said a little prayer and asked the Lord to redeem the day. We ended up enjoying the best waffles we have ever eaten. Then, I saw a place that boarded horses that was open to the public. Horses happen to be my favorite animal. To our delight, we were told we could not only look at the horses, but also pet them. These were some of the sweetest horses, I have ever met. It was such a beautiful day. This morning, RJ gave me a super creative card and built me beautiful Lego flowers.  We went to church together. The service was bittersweet for me. I wore the jacket Sis Vickie had given me several years ago in honor of her. I didn’t realize how much I was going to miss her on this day, but the pain was there. I truly miss her a great deal. A while after church, RJ and I went to one of my favorite places, ate pizza and watched the sun set.  It was a simple, but beautiful weekend.  As I watched the sunset tonight, I thought about how God does redeem us. He will take what seems to be a mess and turn it into something so much better than what you had expected.  I don’t need to know what His plans are. I can trust Him and know that He does all things well. God is good!
