Even Now

Today Pastor Davis preached from John 11:18-22 on "Even Now". I suggest you listen/view it for yourself.  You can find the link  here. Pastor first gave a brief overview on what had been taking place up to this part of the scripture.  Lazarus was dying. Mary and Martha had sent word for Jesus to come and heal him. Instead of coming as they requested, Jesus purposely delayed his visit. Sometimes, God will delay his answer because He has something better in store for you. He has a plan. We learn a lot from how Jesus, Mary and Martha responded to this situation.  When God delays an answer sometimes, we can become confused, but if we hold on just a little longer will eventually see what God has in store for us. We have our own plans, but God has something better planned for us.  When Jesus did arrive, Mary at first was so distraught that she would not come outside. She was upset that God did not answer as she had hoped and now her brother was dead. The God who can raised the de

Love Endures All Things

Love endures all things. As it's what I call Love Weekend, I am attempting to write on what love is or what love does. Today I came across a picture on social media of my pastor playing the keyboard as his wife sings (since I did not take the picture, I did not want to share it without permission). The picture was taken about two years ago. A tear streamed down my face as I looked at this picture. Since then, ALS has taken away her ability to sing like she was doing in the picture. I miss hearing her sing. I thought about the relationship that Pastor and Sis Davis have. Even to this day when he preaches, you will see him glance over at her and smile. Love endures all things.  When a marriage is healthy and vows are kept, the results you will see will be like the Davis’.  I’m thankful there are examples like them to look at. Two imperfect people who love Jesus and love each other. A love that endures in health and in sickness. A love that holds on to hope for a miracle. Please cont

Wisdom Unity Identity

It was absolutely wonderful to be in church today. There is something so beautiful when we come together to worship.  The presence of the Lord was very powerful today. I truly believe it was the type of atmosphere where miracles were put into motion.  Today was also our first Sunday together as a church family at the end of our 21 days of prayer and fasting.  At the end of the service, we took communion together as a church body. Pastor Davis preached a dynamic sermon on "Wisdom Unity & Identity" and his main text was from Isiah 6:1-8.  I will attempt to share it with you. However, I strongly encourage you to watch/view it  here.    Pastor made a statement that whatever you are saying you want to do for God, now is the time to do it. No more waiting for the right time, the time is now and do it quickly, it's now or never.  No matter where you are in your walk with God, make sure you start strong and finish strong. Refuse to give up no matter how hard it may become at
