Take A Walk With Me

 Take a walk with me down the church aisle of Bethel United Pentecostal Church. Find a seat on a socially distanced pew and join with me to hear the word of the Lord preached. This Sunday's sermon was preached by Bro. Jonathan Walker.  I have a few favorite preachers. Two of them happen to be from Bethel, my Pastor Davis and our youth pastor Bro. Jonathan Walker.  The sermon today was preached by Bro. Walker. In times past when I shared a sermon it would be in great detail. I took copious notes, but in the process was not able to worship as freely during the sermon as I wanted. Thus, with this new blog I am giving you the meaty parts of the sermon and then posting the link at the end where you can listen/view the entire sermon on your own. I might have missed a few things, but I felt it was time to get back to sharing the Sunday Sermons. Today's sermon was given the title of " Both Sides Fall Down, One Gets Up".  Take a walk with me down the streets of Bronx, NY where the life of a talented and much loved man was suddenly taken. Ariel Santos was putting in action John 15:13 and Mark 12:31. His death has sent shock waves all over the world and especially here in the NY Metro Apostolic/Pentecostal churches. I did not know him on a personal level. Over the past 14 years while living in NY, I would see him playing his bass guitar for the many church functions.  What I can say is that when the church body hurts, we all hurt together. People I know, care about and attend church with did know him very well, their hearts are broken. Someone so full of life, talent and joy gone just like that.  It's hard to process. The nature of his death causes one to easily want to go down the road of anger, rage and frustration. I can't imagine what his family is feeling right now. I can't imagine what his church family is feeling right now. I can't imagine what his closest friends are feeling right

 Take a walk with me. I’ve have been filled to overflowing with the joy of the Lord is my strength.  This gift of peace from above causes me to smile from deep within.  RJ looked at me this morning and he mentioned that I’m glowing.  I explained to him that is what happens when you place your full trust in God even when you don’t know what tomorrow will bring. Please keep him in your prayers. RJ is doing phenomenal academically and his walk with God is growing deeper. He told me he wants that deep joy that only comes from the Lord. Once RJ was in school, I decided to enjoy the beautiful weather and take a walk along the water at one of my favorite places on Long Island. Due to being outside and able to follow distance protocols, I didn’t need to wear my mask. I did the non-NY thing and made eye contact with anyone I passed by and smiled. This joy is bubbling up inside of me and I wanted to share it. People smiled back and you could see a little pep added to their step. I am happy. I am
