Palm Sunday Triumph

Image
Take a walk with me. Today is Palm Sunday. RJ and I were glad to be in attendance for church at Solid Rock EHT.  Pastor Gary and Pastor Denise Wynn are amazing people. Bro. Wynn preached on Triumph. He of course preached about it being Palm Sunday.  He said something I have heard many times, but it's still true today. It's better to fall on the rock then to have the rock fall on you.  We all have a choice in life. Jesus is passing by, are we going to lay our cloak down and wave our palm branch or are we going to turn the other way?  Life happens, how we react to it will determine out outcome. I was remembering during the service one of the most powerful Palm Sunday's I have ever experienced. It was a Bethel several years ago. Bro. Jonathan Walker passed out Palm Branches to everyone. The entire church was waving their Palm Branches. It gave me a sense of what it must have been like that day when Jesus came riding in on a donkey.  Today, still in many states, we are wearing

Such A Time

Take a walk with me. One thing I have learned is that when you give of your time to serving others, it fills you with joy. I truly believe that one day in the house of God is better than a thousand elsewhere. I was raised this way and I intend to continue to raise RJ to be this way.  There is something to be said about making yourself available. Thus, when Bro.  Walker started preaching his sermon today, RJ just looked at me and smiled. We gave of ourselves today and even though we were tired, we felt good in our hearts and spirit. Bro. Jonathan Walker preached about Esther being made for such a time as this. He was appealing to Bethel as a church family to rise up and start filling the gaps. To put themselves in a position to support the Davis Family (our leadership) as they are going through this season of sickness. He also preached about giving our lives to God and asking Him to have his way. He ended the sermon with " Here I am Lord" The entire congregation sang it toget

Davis Song

Take a walk with me. Today the speaker at Bethel was Bro. Dan Davis. He preached about having a song of praise. As he was preaching I looked at my First Lady, Sis. Vickie Davis. She had this beautiful smile on her face. She has been and always will be one of my  heroes. I love her dearly. As I have mentioned before, the Davis family is going through a season of sickness and even as they walk this path, they are doing it with a praise on their lips and trusting God step by step. I am so thankful to report that even though Bishop D. D. Davis needed to go back to the hospital due to a  low heart rate, he is completely mobile. He is getting his speech back. I thank God for this! Sis. Betty Davis is doing much better as well. ALS has not taken the smile from Sis. Vickie Davis' face nor her worship.  I'm will admit. Today, I could not stop the tears from streaming down my face to see what ALS is doing to her body. Her body is weak, but her spirit is strong. I am still praying and be

Sparkle Butterfly Devie

Image
Take a walk with me. Her Facebook name is Devie Sparkles. She loved butterflies. Her smile lit up the room and her eyes sparkled like diamonds when she laughed. How could you not love Devie?  Our Sparkle Butterfly has flown to her Heavenly Home. Sunday, I plan to wear my Sparkle High Heel shoes to church in honor of her. She loved a good sparkle high heel shoe. Sickness has taken her away, but I know in Heaven she is loving the streets of gold and I would like to think that as Jesus gives her, her crown, with it  comes diamond high heels with butterfly designs. Dance with your Savior, dance and be sick no more. Heaven just became a whole lot brighter. May we all laugh, sparkle and live boldly a bit more like Devie. Take a walk with me.

Prayers For The Bishop

Take a walk with me.  Last week, we received news that Bishop. D. D. Davis had suffered a stroke. We are thankful that he has been released to recover at home. At this time, he will be undergoing aggressive speech therapy. When I heard the news that his speech had been impacted, I thought about how it's his words of wisdom that he is known the best for.  He has touched many lives all over the world. Bishop Davis has spoken things into existence by faith. We now need to use our voices in his place and speak faith and healing into existence for him. Do not let his words that he spoke into your life go in vain. I believe that God can raise him up and in an instant, his speech can be restored. During this season on doctors and recovery it can take a lot out of loved ones.  The Davis Family are wonderful people who have given their lives to the Kingdome of Heaven. As you pray for Bishop Davis' healing, also pray for his family.  Walking this road is heavy on the heart, mind, body,
