Soul Tate Love

Image
This past week two very special people got married. I have had the joy and privilege over the years of watching them both grow as people and as ministers in the church. On their own, they are just very good people. Together, they make an amazing team. Demetrai is family. Eleighna is like the daughter of my heart. Thus, this past Thursday I felt my heart swell as they said their vows and became husband and wife. I have to say from beginning to end, this was one of the happiest weddings I have ever attended. There was just a joy that radiated from both of them. The guests in attendance all genuinely love and care about both of them. It was one huge, happy family. As Pastor Davis said to them as he performed their wedding ceremony, "The Best is Yet To Come".  Two very precious and beautiful people became one. I believe they will weather every storm together. They will laugh together. They will love others together. Most of all, they will glorify God together. To my dearest Mr.

Release

Image
For the past three weeks, Bethel has been in Revival with the Chris Green family.  There was a common theme being spoken by several people and it was a release and signs and wonders. Bro. Green went up to speak and to be honest didn't really preach. You can listen/watch the service  here.  He did read a few scriptures, but then began to speak about Release. He was talking about people being healed and being released of things they have been carrying and struggling with.  He had people come up who needed healing in their bodies to be prayed for. By the time he was done calling things out for needs to be met, the alter was packed. I prayed along with everyone else. I prayed with faith believing that RJ and I are going to finally get our release. I stood back and just looked at all the people. It moved me.  All dealing with something. All pushing. All praying. All believing. I am looking forward to good reports that are going to come. I wish I could tell you I left feeling the high y

When We Say Come Home

Image
I had a conversation with someone who stopped attending a Pentecostal Church they had grown up in. They had their own reasons for leaving and have since found a church to attend. The same day I had a conversation with someone who had stopped attending and still have not really stepped foot into a church since. Both made a statement to me along the same lines.  That Pentecostals have a certain look about them. A certain lifestyle that makes them or should make them Pentecostal. They said they were happy to see some changes that have been coming that were absolutely needed and I could not agree with them more on this. Then one made a statement that made me take pause. They hoped that as they made changes, they didn't lose their identity because if and when they decided to come home, they want to know where home is to go. At first, I was like, you mean you need the address. Then I realized what they were saying. When you go home, you want to visit what is familiar. You want those thi

Revival Thursday

Image
Tonight, with great joy, RJ and I headed to Bethel for Thursday Evening Service. It has been two years since Bethel has had Bible Study on a Thursday evening. Last week was their first service, but RJ and I were in California. So, for us, tonight was our first. Due to it being Revival Month at Bethel, it was not a Bible Study type of service. Bro. Chris Green preached a dynamic sermon on obeying the Lord. I did not take notes, I just wanted to soak it all in. Next week will begin a more Bible Study type of Thursday, I am excited about it. Bro. Green preached from Luke 10.  He was preaching about reaping the harvest. About how God delivered the people out of Egypt and then they found themselves facing the Red Sea.  They were being pressed from all sides. They were upset because God was not delivering them at that moment. If they would for the moment stop looking at the obstacle in front of them, but instead looked through God's eyes, they would have seen that there was an unknown p

He’s Alive

Image
I woke up this morning with a thankful heart. I love this day because it’s a time to celebrate that our Lord and Savior rose from the dead. I’m so thankful that He is alive. He’s alive in my soul today! For our Sunday Service, we attended church with family. My home church has outgrown the building I grew up attending church in. It was so wonderful to see familiar faces, but did my heart good to see many new faces. IPC is alive and doing well. I always love coming home. Rejoice, for He is alive!

Stevie and Delilah BroYay

Today, I had the joy of attending my little brother’s wedding.  We all adore Delilah and gladly welcome her into our family. The wedding ceremony was simple and beautiful. Stevie and Delilah wrote their own vows. To hear how much they love each other touched me deeply. At the reception I met her family for the first time and they are a beautiful family. Each and every one of them only had good things to say about my brother. It does the heart good to see real love on display. My brother truly loves her and she truly loves him. I’m thankful both families get along and it was a beautiful evening celebrating two people we all love a great deal. To my little brother and to my new sister, I wish you a lifetime of love that lasts. I truly love you both with all my heart. God is good.

Jesus Went To Jerusalem

Image
Bethel is in Revival Month. For the next three weeks, Evangelist Chris Green and his family will be ministering at Bethel.  I am so glad they are here with us. Bro. Green preached a sermon on "Jesus Went To Jerusalem" and his main text was from Mathew 20:17-19. I took notes for half of the sermon and just stopped. The sermon was a much needed word for Bethel. If you are familiar with Palm Sunday, you will know that it revolves around Jesus riding into Jerusalem on a donkey. The people laid out their coats and were waving palm branches shouting out Hosanna.  This word means "save us".  He was coming in as their King, their Messiah. Jesus chose to come to Jerusalem. He knew that the crown waiting for him was not a crown made of gold and jewels, but instead was a crown of thorns. He was not going to sit on a throne, he was going to instead take a beating on his back and be hung on a cross. He chose to die for you and I. He was fully God and man. He could have chosen t

Crumbs and Revival

Image
As I mentioned before April is Revival month for Bethel.  To start if off, the Bethel Youth Group had their first official youth service in person. It was so nice for everyone to be together again. For Friday and today's service we had a guest evangelist. Until this weekend I had never heard Bro. Landon Gore preach. He is a part of the new generation of evangelists. Friday night's service was amazing, so I had a feeling Sundays was going to be good. The entire church service was like Bethel had been before the pandemic. It was so good to see the youth (my son included) at the front dancing and worshiping in total freedom. It was also really nice to have Bishop Davis and Mother Shephard present as well. Pastor Davis was on the platform and Sis Vickie Davis was in the back waving her hankie in the air. By the time Bro. Gore came up to preach, the place was fully charged and filled with faith. Bro Gore is very lively. I had my journal out to take notes and realized if I did, I wo
