Reaching Forward

Image
Take a walk with me into a Bethel Sunday. It was absolutely wonderful to hear Pastor Davis preach. His main text came from Philippians 3:10-14 with the title of "Reaching Forward". I highly recommend you watch/listen to it  here.   If you want what God has for you, you have to  reach for it.  Sometimes the Lord has to show us the way one step at a time. We don't know what the next step is until we take the first one. In the distance we see a wall. We don't know what we are going to do when we get tot the wall, but we keep walking one step at a time trusting God will make away. We can do this because we remember in times past when God made a way. When you get to that wall and there is no other way, God will either remove the wall  completely or he will blow a hole right through it. Either way, God will make a way. If we are not careful we can take on an attitude of retreat. It's so important that we not do that. We must continue to move forward. We all have...

The Lord Of Host Is With Us

Image
Take a walk with me into a Bethel Sunday. The Praise and Worship team were completely tapped in and the songs went hand in hand with what Bro. Jonathan Walker preached today. The title of his sermon was "The Lord of Host is With Us". His main text was taken from Psalms 19:7-11 and Psalm 46. I suggest you watch/listen to the sermon  here.   It was an encouraging sermon. I took a lot of notes, but I feel to give you a brief summary, because I really think you should watch it for yourself and truly take in all that is being said. God might not change your circumstances but He will change you if you will let him as you go through the situation. He is your peace. When you have Jesus you have everything. Jesus helps in the middle of your brokenness. God is your refuge and your strength. He is this for you Right Now!  The Lord of Host is with you. He is in you. He is your strength and peace. No matter what is going on, after you have done all you know to do, Be still and k...

When God Is Made To Make

Image
Take a walk with me into a Bethel Sunday.  I love Sunday. I love being in church. I love being Apostolic. Today Bro James Wilson was the preacher. I think this was the first time I have heard him preach. He is just as anointed as a preacher as he is a minister of music.  Before he preached another evangelist got up to greet the church, Bro. Landon Gore. I smiled to myself. A new generation of preachers are rising up. My generation of evangelist for the most part, with a few exceptions, are now pastoring churches or are full time missionaries. These are the preachers my son will be looking up to. I was encouraged by what I saw and heard today from both of these evangelists. RJ has a book he likes to have visiting ministers sign. He was pretty excited to get them to write in his book. I watched him and my mother's heart was full. I'm glad he looks up to those who give their life to Kingdom things. Bro. Wilson preached a sermon entitled, "When God Is Made To Make". It w...

A Chosen Generation

Take a walk with me into Bethel on a Sunday and go down memory lane. Today was extra special for me. We had guest  missionaries to Greece. The Reeves Family. I always love missionaries. However, Sis Carrie Reeves is a very near and dear friend of mine. It's been about 22 years since we have seen each other. We both were Associates in Missions to Taiwan.  She is a treasure to me and being able to see her again after all this time, was so special. It was wonderful to introduce her to R.J. and to meet her children and husband.  Last night we had pizza and nai cha while we looked through my old photo albums filled with Taiwan memories. It felt good to bring up some very happy times and memories. Today, she and her daughter sang a song that is very special to us. We used to sing it in Chinese and English when we are in Taiwan.  Thus, when I heard the music begin to play and her daughter sing this song in Spanish, then Greek followed by them together in English, the ...

There Will Be Glory After This

Image
Take a walk with me into a Bethel Sunday.  The Ethan Hagan Family was with us again and he preached a dynamic sermon. The Praise team was tapped in today. One song after another opened up the windows of heaven. Then it was like Bethel before the pandemic came. It was dancing and worshiping in freedom at the front of the church. People are going through it here in NY. Many went to the front and danced before the Lord and sang by faith that "he turned my mourning into dancing" Soon after this, Bro. Hagan came up to preach. You can watch/listen to the sermon  here.  He preached from Joel 2:28  on the topic of "There Will Be Glory After This".  What we read in the book of Joel has already been fulfilled on The Day of Pentecost. The spirit of God was poured out by evidence of speaking in other tongues and it still happens today. Jesus had died on the cross and then resurrected  from the dead. When the spirit of God was poured out it was the glory after thi...

Beyond Rhetorical Faith

Image
Take a walk with me into a Bethel Sunday.  We had a guest Evangelist Bro. Hagan. He and his family are super nice and it was great that they were here with us. He preached such an amazing sermon. It goes hand in hand with what has been preached Sunday after Sunday.  Once again, RJ kept throwing side glances at me. He preached from Jeremiah 32:26-27 with the title of "Beyond Rhetorical Faith". You can watch/listen to  here .  It was a direct link to what we preached on having hope last Sunday.  You don't have to have a great deal of faith in your life, you just need faith. God is not looking for great faith, He is looking for mustard seed faith. If you can believe you can receive.  Is there anything too hard for God? No. There is nothing too hard for God. We need to go beyond rhetorical faith. Go beyond just what you know or think to be, but dig down deep and trust that God can do it.  Don't go by what you are seeing. Go by what God's word says. S...

In The Midst of Lamentations

Image
Take a walk with me into a Bethel Sunday. The worship was amazing. Then came time for the preaching. I have never heard Bro. Robert Martin preach before. I think it was the first time I have ever heard anyone preach from Lamentations. Bro. Martin preached from the third chapter of Lamentations. When I heard his title, I just shook my head and glanced over at RJ. He preached on "In The Midst Of Lamentations". This morning RJ made a comment about his middle name being Jeremiah and feeling like this time of our life was a time of Lamentations. So when I heard his title and text I glanced at RJ and we both just smiled. I knew at that moment, God had a special word for our direct situation. I am truly at a loss for words for the deep and powerful impact this sermon had on both of us. You can watch- view it  here.   We both walked out of the service filled with an abundance of hope for new beginnings in our hearts. Bro. Martin made a comment that if God has promised it, He wil...
