Advent 23 24 Eve

 Take a walk with me. It’s Christmas Eve and it’s windy and with rain.  Today we baked cookies with my mom for Santa.  Last night we went with family to see a Christmas Lights drive through. Thus, tonight RJ and I did Advent 23 and 24 together.  All of them have finished except for Pearl- she has an extra one for Christmas Day. Aldi: smooth milk chocolate- both Christmas Angels Coffee: Peppermint Bark and Santa’s Blend North Fork Chocolates: A milk chocolate Santa that seemed to have a different sensation in every bite. I just don’t know how they did it, but it was as amazing. Last one was two swirls one milk the other dark chocolate and they both were sublime.  Take a walk with me. Tonight the skies were clear and we saw clearly the remnants of the Star of Bethlehem. RJ began to jump up and down and shout the curse is broken. Advent 21 and The Star

 Take a walk with me. Tonight we looked for the Star of Bethlehem. It was so cloudy that we missed the brightest part of it, but towards the end, the clouds cleared long enough so that we saw it shining bright in the sky. I thought about the hope of glory I have living inside of me and felt His peace surround me.   For our advent adventure: Aldi: smooth creamy chocolate in the shape of a hippopotamus.  Coffee: Holiday Blend Pearls Treats- she woke up from a nice nap to run over and eat her treats. Advent 19 and 20

 Take a walk with me.  I missed blogging yesterday. So I am combining it with today’s.  We have an added taste tester for our chocolates. We are spending Christmas with my mom. For our Advent Adventures: Aldi: creamy milk chocolate in the shape of a horse and Hansel and Gretel at the candy cottage. Coffee:  Spiced Egg Nog and Columbian. I can’t tell you how they taste since my mom does not have a Kurig and coffee is done the old fashioned way. I will enjoy them at a later time. Pearl’s Treats: never fear- Pearl is quickly near to enjoy her treats. North Fork Chocolates: square milk chocolate with tiny green dots on top- inside was this amazing Belgian chocolate infused with caramel- ahmazing.  Square dark chocolate with a Christmas Tree. Advent Day 18

 Take a walk with me. For our day 18 Adventure. Aldi: Creamy smooth chocolate in the shape of  a teddy bear  Coffee: Jamaica Blue Mountain goodness  Pearls Treats: she was ready and willing  North Fork Chocolates:  square dark chocolate with white snowflakes detailing on the top. The inside was filled with a Belgian chocolate infused with an orange liquor flavor..... an explosion of flavors in my mouth. Lego: a snow speeder, happy as always to build it. Advent Day 17

 Take a walk with me. For our Day 17 Advent Adventure: Aldi Chocolate: smooth milk chocolate in the shape of a rhinoceros. Coffee: Caramel Macchiato....wonderful, just wonderful Pearl's Treats:  Pearl was so busy watching the snow fall outside, she at first didn't realize we were doing our Advent Calendars, but when she heard the crinkle of the wrapper, she was ready to eat her treat. North Fork Chocolates:  Square, dark chocolate with a white wrapped gift and a red ribbon/bow. Just looking at the chocolate I was amazed at the details put into such a small piece of chocolate. Then, when I put it in my mouth. I don't know the flavor, but it was amazing and RJ wanted to lick the wrapper it came in, yes it was that good. Lego: A mini droid.. RJ was So Happy to build this. We had a big snowstorm. It's been a while since we have had this much snow. Advent Day 16

 Take a walk with me.  For our 16th day of our Advent Adventures: Aldi: smooth creamy chocolate in the shape of  a lion- I told RJ, that was fitting as God is the lion of Judah. Pearl's Treats: She was alllll for her doggy treats in the shape of a bone. Coffee: Sumatra....I put a piece of Hershey's dark chocolate at the bottom of the cup and then poured the coffee over it....it was amazing. North Fork Chocolates: two tiny bells, one milk chocolate and the other super dark chocolate, both amazing.  Lego: Luke Walkers tie fighter...It's so cute in mini Lego form. As I type we are having quite the snow storm.  It's been a while since we have had snow like this.  Take a walk with me. Today for day 15 of our Advent Adventure: Aldi : creamy smooth chocolate in the shape of  a four leaf clover. Pearl's Treats: heart shaped and today she wanted one to come from me and the other from RJ. Coffee: Organic Breakfast Blend...smoooth.... North Fork Chocolates: Square milk chocolate shape with an adorable gingerbread man wearing a chef's hat. When we cut it open we smelled it first. I could smell, ginger, clove and nutmeg. True the smell, nestled in dark Belgian chocolate inside a milk chocolate casing was an explosion of all things autumn. Just as I think I have tasted the best chocolate in my life, the next advent day proves me wrong. Take a walk with me.  Today on our 14th Advent Adventure: Aldi: Creamy smooth chocolate in the shape of a monkey. Coffee: smooooooth to the last sip from Guatemala. Pearl's Treats: She was happy to eat her treats.  North Fork Chocolates:  Milk chocolate in the shape of an owl. It was solid, so we assumed there would only be the taste of milk chocolate. OH how we were wrong. We couldn't figure out what it was, it was citrusy. I almost wanted to say it was an apricot. All I know is that it was just an amazing surprise to the taste buds.  Lego: a mini droid fighter.  RJ was super excited to build a small one. He's really enjoying this advent calendar. Advent Day 13

 Take a walk with me.  Today is the 13th day of Advent. It seems that December is flying by quickly. The sermon at Bethel today was preached by Bro. Jonathan Walker, it was along the same lines as many of the scriptures that I have been posting.  I really do want to be walking in the light of Christ.  For today's advent:  Aldi: Creamy smooth milk chocolate in the shape of a swan. Coffee: Hazelnut Coffee Cake- it was good, smelled wonderful. Pearl's Treats: She was alllll for her treat today.  She will be sad when Advent ends. North Fork Chocolates:   Dark Chocolate in the shape of a heart. When we cut in in half we saw it was solid, thus it was a surprise that as we allowed it to melt in our mouth we discovered it had raspberry in it. It was so good, that RJ took the paper it had been sitting in and licked that little pieces of chocolates off the paper. Advent Day 12

 Take a walk with me. Our 12th day of advent took us to: Aldi Chocolate: milk chocolate creaminess in the shape of Frosty The Snowman- Yay! Coffee: Organic Honduras-smoooooooth Pearl's Treats: Yummy as always and she wanted more. Advent Day 11

 Take a walk with me.  On our day 11 of our Advent Adventure: Aldi: Smooth Creamy Milk Chocolate in the shape of  a train. Coffee: Cinnamon Sticky Buns....it tasted like the dough and all...not one of my best coffees to be honest, I couldn't finish it...but that's ok, I made another fresh cup out of something from the kitchen. Pearl's Treats:  OOOH she was a happy doggy and wantned more, two was just not enough, we told her she had to wait until tomorrow and yes I did slip her a treat from her own stash we have at home. North Fork Chocolates: Square shaped dark chocolate with a red present with gold ribbon embossed on the top.  There was an essence of raspberry and maybe almond. I don't know, but it doesn't matter because it was just amazing.  Lego: a mini version of the millennium falcon....yes..RJ was very happy to see this one in the box. Advent Day 10

 Take a walk with me.  For day 10 of our Advent Adventure: Aldi: smooth creamy chocolate in the shape of an elephant. Pearl's Dog Treats:  Today all I had to do was go to the table with her Doggy Advent Box and she was at my feet, barking and very excited.  Coffee: Salted Coconut goodness North Fork Chocolates:  Dark chocolate owl that turned out to be Belgian Dark Chocolate with a hint of sea salt. AHHHMAAAZING! Lego: I have to admit, RJ and I were both excited to see it was a mini figure of  Lego Droid DO. Advent Day 9

 Take a walk with me.  Today on our 9th Advent Adventure: Aldi: Creamy smooth milk chocolate in the shape of a duckling that was so cute, RJ didn't want to eat it. So, he didn't eat it. Pearl's Treats: The little bags usually come with two. I gave her one and didn't realize that I only gave her one until I looked at her and she was giving this stare....then I looked at the table and there was the other one. Pearl is not that smart a times, but when it comes to her dog treats, she knows. It was pretty funny. Coffee:  Organic Rainforest. It was a lovely cup with a bit of a twange to it. I can't think of any other word to describe it. North Fork Chocolates:  A solid milk chocolate heart, that just melted in your mouth. Smoooooth to the last morsel. Lego:   Rey Yay! A  minifigure of Rey with her faithful light saber in hand.  We had some lovely snow today, that didn't stick, but RJ and Pearl enjoyed running around outside as the snow came down. Advent Day 8

 Take a walk with me.  We are on day 8 of our Advent Adventure. Aldi: smooth rich creamy milk chocolate was in the shape of a fluffy kitten.  Coffee: Caramel Pecan....the aroma of the coffee on it's own was divine. The flavor of the sip matched the aroma.  Pearl's Treats:  She was ready and very impatient for her treat today, she's starting to get the hang of it.  North Fork Chocolates:  Dark chocolate hard square with white, green, pink and red colored stripes on the top. The inside was a soft creamy chocolaty center. I have no idea what the flavor was, but it was mmmm good.  Lego: X-wing fighter...I just keep hoping that we come across more Mandalorian things, but RJ is happy with each daily surprise. Today's Bible Advent is very appropriate for many reasons. I am so thankful that the Lord is my strength and I can place my trust in Him.  Psalms 27:1-4 1 A Psalm of David. Advent Day 7

 Take a walk with me. For day 7 of our Advent Adventure: Aldi Chocolate : Creamy milk chocolate in the shape of a very happy clown. Coffee of the day: Big Island. I could taste a tropical essence in it...It was very delicious. Pearl's Treats: Today to our surprise they were in the shape of tiny dog bones. She gobbled them up pretty quickly. North Fork Chocolates: Dark Chocolate deliciousness in the shape of a little drummer boy.  RJ and I both sat there and savored the flavor as long as we could. It was just that good. I say that a lot about these chocolates. But, they really are just that good. Lego: A minifigure of a red colored storm trooper. RJ told me the name when he built it, but I just don't remember. Advent Day 6

 Take a walk with me. Today is Sunday and we were thankful to attend church at Bethel.  Bro. Dan Davis was the guest speaker and he really encouraged us today. He really pressed to reach out to God and realize who you are in Him. To know that God will take care of your need and situation and to not give up.  This past week I have watched humanity and the family of God come together. The love has been overwhelming to observe, it humbles you. On to our daily Advent Adventure. Aldi Chocolate: same milk chocolate creamy smoothness, this time in the shape of Santa. Coffee: was Organic Colombian....mmmm smooooooooooth to the last drop.  Pearl's Dog Treats: Heart shaped sweet potato flavored-she was ready and waiting for her treat. North Fork Chocolates:  Creamy milk chocolate in the shape of two bells tied with a ribbon. I cut these candies in half-they are very small and delicate. Today's broke in three's when I cut it. Advent Day 5

 Take a walk with me. For our Advent Adventure for day 5 we have. Aldi Chocolate: smooth creamy chocolate in the shape of a very cute turtle. Coffee: from Brazil- smooooooooth to the last drop. Advent Day 4

 Take a walk with me. For Day 4 of our Advent Adventure we discovered: Aldi Chocolate:  the shape of trumpet-still smooth and delicious Coffee: White Chocolate Mocha amazingness all the way to the last drop. Pearl's Dog Treats: Surprise were the shapes of fish instead of hearts. North Fork Chocolates: on top of a square shaped piece of Belgian chocolate was the image of a teddy bear wearing a red and white striped shirt. Inside was this mouse. Advent Day 3

 Take a walk with me.  We are on day 3 of our Advent Calendar adventure.  Aldi Chocolate: same milk chocolate smoothness in the shape of a crescent moon with a face. Coffee: was from Peru... not gonna lie it was not my favorite cup. Dog Snack: salmon smell and Pearl is starting to understand and gets excited when she hears the word Advent. North Fork Chocolate: a very petite piece of dark chocolate in the shape of a Christmas Tree. RJ and I put our half of the piece in our mouths at the same time and we both said “mmmmmmmm” at the same time.. it was just that good.  Lego: today’s piece was a mini scale version of Luke’s home on Tatooine from Star Wars (A New Hope). Advent Adventures Day 2

 T ake a walk with me. For Day two of our Advent Calendars (thanks to mom for getting them for us) we discovered that the Aldi chocolate will most likely be the same creamy chocolate goodness for all the pieces, but every day is a different shape. Today's chocolate shape was an adorable puppy dog wearing a bow tie. The Northern Fork Chocolatier was hazelnut milk chocolate and made the words JOY with a wreath in the middle for the O.It melted in our mouths. Another wonderful bite. The coffee was Costa Rica and perfect smoothness for a mid day cup of coffee. Last but not least, RJ's Lego was a mini-figure of Po Dameron. He was wearing an ugly sweater that had BB8 on it and had a lovely coffee cup as an accessory.  For the reason for the season. Advent Adventures Day 1

Take a walk with me. This year, RJ and I were given several advent calendars. Two have chocolate in them. One is from Aldi and the other from The Northern Fork Chocolatier. RJ also has a Lego Star Wars one that I gave him for his birthday. I was also given a coffee themed one and Pearl has a doggy treat one.  Because I have not blogged in a while, I decided to share a daily posting on our Advent Calendar Adventures. For today's Chocolate the one from Aldi was shaped like a snowman and RJ said it tasted creamy. For the one from the Northern Fork Chocolates, it was an amazing bite that in RJ's words, "delicious beyond any chocolate I have ever tasted." My coffee was Apple Pie flavored and it was delicious. Pearl ate her doggy treat so fast that we didn't have time to ask her if they tasted great or not, but they must have because she gobbled them up.  The Lego Star Wars for today was an A Wing fighter.  All in all, we are enjoying this little daily adventure.
